Diaper Rash Treatment

Many babies suffer at some point in their first year, some diaper rash. Although many parents today in his day used cloth diapers, there is still a belief that it is these that cause diaper rash.

On recent investigations it was proven that the nappy type employed is not a very important factor for the incidence of diaper rash. The most significant diaper rash cause was found in the diaper change frequency (lower frequency greater chance of suffering) and baby's health.

If you see your baby diaper rash it is imperative to identify the cause. Has the baby been exposed a long period of time in a dirty diaper? Is the baby teething or feeling bad? Has the baby eaten anything different that could have caused an allergic reaction?

Tomatoes and foods with a lot of tomato have been shown to have much to do with the irritation in the first eighteen months and many prepared baby foods have a large proportion of this element). Orange juice can also be irritating.

Diaper Rash Treatment Most soothe irritations leaving the diaper off as long as possible and following the advice outlined in the previous section. Try changing the diaper as much as possible to keep the skin dry. To use wipes clean and chemical free perfume or washable wipes with warm water and lotion (type cubes for wipes).

In more extreme cases you can use a natural balm or cream but be careful because they can waterproof your diapers (if liner with always-dry). In this case you can use an always-dry lining to leave reserved for these occasions, or let the cream absorb fully before putting the diaper. If that does not improve in several days or has repeated irritation, see your pediatrician.
